If you are very lucky, the fiddling previous owner will have marked the
original location of the AFM's setting.
Otherwise it is a bit of trial & error. One thing to try is to remove the
cover over the AFM, start the engine and watch the action of the arm
attached to the AFM's flap. The flap should 'float' on the incoming air
flow. If it swings open too fast, overshoots, and tends to oscillate
(assuming a steady air flow) the spring tension is too weak.
