Thanks to Jeff Greenfield I now know that getting the wheel bearing out
of a rear 116 is one thing but installing the new one You Must have a
washer (or better, the proper bearing tool) which is large enough to fit
up against the outer bearing surface (preferably a 'tool' that is only
slightly smaller than the OD of the bearing) to push or (better) pull
into place. If pushed/pulled in with the 'washer' only large enough to
rest against the center bearing section, the rather expensive
bearing/bearings is/are toast.
