My 67 GT did the same thing last year under the same conditions.  I think 
turning the steering wheel at low speed puts the highest loads on the box.  
Better to fail in the driveway than while driving though. I understand that 
this is a common problem with the Burman boxes.  Alfa used ZFs too that dont 
have this problem.  So, I switched over to a ZF.  Direct bolt in replacement.  
One thing to watch out for is to get one from the same model, since the shafts 
come in different lenghts.
