Does it turn over by hand?  I'd make sure the engine turns freely before trying 
to start it.  Then, give it a whirl, either it catches or it doesn't.

Once you get it running, I'd let it come up to temp, then cool down and change 
all the fluids.  Oil, transmission fluid, diff, coolant, etc.  But let things 
cycle and let the oil filter catch any accumulated crap before you worry about 
that.

A full tune up can't hurt, but I'd get it running before I started taking 
anything apart.  If you start changing things, and it doesn't start, you won't 
know if it was something you did, or a result of sitting.

Hi Folks    I am about to try to recommision a 78 us spider that has not been
used since it came here in 91 It has been started but not recently and not by
me. I can now drive it legally with the steering wheel on the wrong side(ok
here in oz if over 30 years old). Any tricks with the injection or just new
fuel, plugs and hit it . Tks John
