I am fortunate to have not had mine apart in a few years. However I do have recent experience with this on my wife's '85 Saab.

Eastwood sells "3M strip calk" (their spelling not mine) as part #31050. It is very useful for making flexible-watertight seals anywhere on a car body. BUT you must be careful how much you use because of its density. The problem is that if you overfill the recess that originally held the gasket and then crank down on the fasteners you can very, very easily break the lens.

That said, I can attest to the fact that it is adhesive, seals well, remains flexible and can be removed at least a year later.

You can also purchase "make your own" o ring kits from NAPA and from Pegasus Racing. They are expensive but very professional looking when complete. I made a set of gaskets for what was essentially a fog light that is still holding up after at least 9 years.

Subject: [alfa] GTV-6 Tail Light Lens Gaskets

Anyone know of a source for GTV-6 tail light lens gaskets, either original
or suitable substitute? Mine, 1985, have deteriorated. Also, what type of
glue will stick best to the plastic housing? TIA
