Eric, There is so much involved in doing a trans correctly, I have to say don't even attempt it unless you are a trained machinist with a shop and ALL the measuring tools. Every part now has to be checked to make sure it's within spec. Parts have changed over the years and some are better than others, forget eBay parts unless they're OEM, and even then, measure them! My advice is: Send it to Merritt Carden, get the gears lightened and do the anti friction coating. If you're keeping the car and driving it, it's well worth it. This is new territory for me. Does anyone know of any good guides or other online resources for this process? Any words of advice?
