Fellow Alfa Romeo friends:

Since the middle 1990's I have been a enthusiastic reader/lurker of the Alfa
Digest and wish to observe that John Hertzman's commentary had been the high
watermark in 'journalistic excellence' about Alfa Romeo fortunes to be found
anywhere in the media. A wise and articulate gentleman.

While John can no longer speak for himself, I believe he would today
wholeheartedly criticize Fiat S.p.A. (Torino) for perpetuating the
characteristic struggles of the Middle Ages in trying to steal the last
vestige of the renowned Alfa Romeo heritage from the Comune of Milano by
unceremoniously closing the Museo Storico for "maintenance" for a period of at
least the last 10 months.... with publically-stated plans to sell many of the
cars and exhibit the remaining few in the new Torinese automobile museum.

In true Machiavellian fashion, Marchionne and his boss Elkham scheme behind
closed doors in government circles in Rome to gain legislative support to
steal a fortune of priceless museum treasures, conquering and dividing the
collection for financial revenue....and leaving the Milanese with nothing but
the total annihilation and eradication of their Alfa Romeo history. Just like
the battles of Middle Ages City States....Turin vs. Milano. Go ahead. Prove
me wrong. One other observation I would like to make. Please remind yourself
of the benefits we have richly received due to the dedication of Richard Welty
in keeping this Alfa Digest going....and support him when he asks for a
contribution for the hundreds of hours of his personal time and hundreds of
dollars of equipment he has unselfishly donated. Once in awhile he puts out a
"wish list" of items he would like to receive from eBay listings or a request
for a simple donation. Please contribute and support Richard now and once in
awhile in 2012. Best Wishes to All this Holiday Season, Bob Little
