I had the distinct pleasure of dipping into the Gulf of Mexico on Christmas Day . . . not far from Ft. Myers, Florida, near where Fred DiMatteo sent many of his last posts to the Digest, as I remember. (My wife's parents invited us down for the holidays.)
I came to the Digest in 2001 when I bought a low mileage Spider from New Jersey and quickly became captivated by the sophistication of what I'd bought, of the order that left my high school TR6 still bottoming-out around corners. I'm not sure why, but I just take some pleasure in posting to the Digest from this place . . . Sarasota . . . so far from my Richmond, Virginia, AND connected to the Alfa fold by, proximity to Mr. DiMatteo's last home, and, as i'm told, a local Alfa shop and some local Alfisti whom I've never met. I'll go to the Sarasota Classic Car Museum tomorrow . . . to look at the beauty on display. As I remember, there may be an Alfa on display.
