So Harry, what you MEANT to say, is that you deliberately blocked the vent
tube by inserting a blank in place of the gasket, to prove that a blocked
oil/air separator would in fact cause oil to vent out of the cap......

Problem solved, it was self induced, After a valve adjustment job I had to
make a new gasket for the vent line out of the
right side of the valve cover to the charcoal filter. I got distracted and
did
not cut the opening in the gasket.So the the engine decided to breathe out
the
oil cap. I'm trying to decide if it was old age or stupidity that caused the
problem
