I had this problem with squealing when I had a Milano years ago - I added some of the anti-squeal additive found at the local auto parts store (swells the seals?) and the problem went away and stayed away as long as I owned the car. So if you have not tried that yet I would suggest getting some of the old fluid out, replacing it with new fluid and the additive.
