Hi,

I know this would sound counterintuitive, but I would start by purchasing a
radio with a strong tuner! The original Blaupunkts, although very cool, had a
very weak tuner. You were lucky to pick-up a local radio station with three or
four antennas on the roof.

Amazingly, a radio with a good tuner will pick-up stations with an antenna
under the dash. Simply attach it to the original antenna cable coming from the
radio, perhaps purchasing something at Radio Shack, or jerry rigging something
yourself will suffice, and your good to go.
