Question for the racers out there: What kind of material do you use when making non-glass 'glass' for your race cars? Is there anything out there that's easy to machine, relatively scratch-resistant and doesn't require special solvents be used to clean it? (Aerospace industry acrylics are really sensitive to the wrong solvents...) The rear vent windows on my brother's R5 (no, not a Group B R5, this one's a period electric drivetrain conversion by a U.S. Electricar Corp. of Massachusetts) have come unglued (!) from their hinges, and besides trusting rearview mirror adhesive to keep the glass attached to the car, machining new ones out of polymer (I have access to someone who has access to a CNC router) that can be drilled and bolted to the hinges seems like the only robust way to fix it. And saving a few pounds won't hurt either--that thing needs all the help it can get to attain 55 mph.

Thanks in advance,
Joe Elliott
