Subject: Re: E: [alfa] Production figures for 1991 164S?
Good news this morning -- PEMCO is repairing my 164S, not totalling it. I
sent them my (breathtakingly substantial) receipts, the import data, and
the Hagerty standards and value estimates. Twenty four hours later they
told the body shop to go ahead.
.... So of course then the question becomes: what on earth approaches the
experience of driving my Alfa?
Thank you all again. You're a marvel.
Joan
How about this: buy an L 5-speed, and put an S transmission in it. The
low-end torque will make it pull off the line well, the lower S gearing
will accentuate that, and the bits you put in it will be recoverable in
case of tow-ball frenzy. I was noticing that my '92S is a joy as the
revs mount up there, but that it's a little tame off the line or if you
don't downshift enough when passing.
