Sure , for a bare metal
show quality paint job, you're right. It's a lot  
less if you don't have to
go to bare metal. If you're going all the way, 
every  primer coat should sit
for 30 days between sandings. I think on a 
Berlina, it  will be awhile before
anyone does that kind of job. Giulietta and 
Giulia Spiders  are worth putting
that kind of paint money into.

A decent  paint job is way more than four
grand.

Just to do a bare metal repaint  of my 1988 Corniche due only to paint
cracking
(no rust nor bodywork), set  me back $22k. Materials were  $5k.
