Subject: [alfa] Milano power steering rack replacement

i need to replace the rack in the 89 Milano. the cost of a rebuilt rack is
pretty reasonable, but the shop manual has all of 4 pages on the rack, and
none have to do with removal and installation. are there any tricks to this?
i've removed and reinstalled non-power racks in Alfettas before, but there
was no engine in the car a the time. what are the issues i might encounter.

thanks,

What Brian said. You definitely want to lift the engine. Not much but it
helps. You will twist, turn, push, pull in every combination you can think
of and then you will blink and it will fall out. Of course you just blinked
and didn't see what just happened.

No engine crane? A block of wood under the oil pan and a jack.

I have removal instructions from a 75 manual. I will send pdf to your email
address. Not much in there. Makes it sound easy.
