Several list members suspected that the miss was electrical in nature. They suggested that I look at all high voltage (all of 12vdc) ignition connections and related grounds. I have an RML ignition kit: coil, ignition control module, and Bosch distributor with an optical trigger. The GTV is my track car.
I tested for 12vdc at the coil and found it after a few attempts. I replaced the connector since it was on the old side. All other wires at the coil were removed and examined along with a ground wire to the body for the ignition control module. Used electrical cleaner spray on the multi-wire connector between the control module and the optical trigger. Removed the cap and inspect the innards, rotor, and all the plug wires and HT wire; nothing out of the ordinary was found. Checked the timing and it was still at my setting it to 5 degrees BTDC. On todays test run on the DC Beltway at noon, the miss seemed to be missing at constant throttle at speeds between 50-70mph (don't tell anyone ..). I'll perform some more tests and if the miss is gone, I'll reset the fuel cutoff solenoid to its leaner setting and re-test.
