Do any of you have prior experience with the aforementioned event? I was completely unaware of it until I got an automated promotional email from another internet forum that I (don't really) frequent. But coincidentally I'm scheduled to return home from a business trip on Aug 14, with a layover at LAX, which is almost perfectly timed to participate (and to attend Concorso Italiano and the vintage races at Laguna Seca, neither of which I've had the opportunity to do before). The key word being almost; my flight arrives at 9:00 and the event starts at 9:00 according to the limited information on their web site. But 9:00 to 5:00 seems like an awfully long time to make what is nominally a 5-hr drive--can anyone shed any light on whether they really roll out at 9:00 sharp or whether I might have an opportunity to join them if I land at LAX at 9:00?
