It seems that every time I open the hood on the GTV, there is evidence of acid corrosion on the battery hold down L-bracket. I've scraped off the stuff, applied baking soda/water until it no longer fizzes, sanded down to bare metal, primed, and coated with 1) Rustolemum black paint 2) Plasti-dip that is supposedly not affected by battery acid. Put those felt rings on both posts and slathered on anti-corrosion battery gel
And it is has come back again - both corrosion sites are near both terminals with the negative having the largest site. Some of the L-bracket has disappeared over the years by the negative terminal. Any other suggestions on what I can do ??? Bruce '73 GTV -- to be removed from alfa, see http://www.digest.net/bin/digest-subs.cgi or email "unsubscribe alfa" to [email protected]
