It was my understanding that Alfa installed in-tank pumps to augment the exterior Bosch units to aid in the prevention of fuel boiling in the lines on a hot day. (vapor-lock) It should be easy to see if your fuel tank is so equipped,a look at the top of the tank would indicate a power source.
