while the Milano has been sitting, the mice have been enjoying
it. what does everyone think best practices are for cleaning
upholstery, trunk mats, carpet, etc.?

Unfortunately the mice have also likely been peeing in your car. DAMHIK
Use an upholstery shampoo machine - either rented or pay a detail shop. Or,
remove the carpets (which means removing the seats, console, etc) and hose
them off, let then dry then re-install.
