Dick and all, Sometimes my Duetto trunk lid sticks to the gasket and doesn't even move when I pull the release. Hopefully that is your situation. Have you tried having someone hold the release while you lift up on the lid? Usually, if the cable breaks, it breaks at the release handle and not in the trunk. If that's the case you might be able to grab the end of the cable with vise grips to pull it. If it is broken too far inside, since the cable and housing are replaceable, grab the housing with vise grips which will destroy it but you can squeeze it enough to grab the cable inside. The cable doesnbt appear to have snapped, but the trunk wonbt open. My shop manual is, of course, in the trunk. Luckily, there is nothing perishable in there. Does anyone have a suggestion?
