Although I brought up the subject of testing for the user directory I only did it for completeness of validation. IF the lfs user directory is NOT /home/lfs there are some serious problems. Jhalfs assumes a standardized location and I hard wired the path throughout the various scripts. Should this path stay hardwired or should it become a variable and handle strange setups?
I think what you've done is reasonable. For all of that, we could have made the user 'jhalfs' and assumed a location of /home/jhalfs. It shouldn't have any use outside of our build system. I can't see a reason why you would need that value to be dynamic.
