Sorry if my earlier message seemed a bit too finicky.  I was rushing
to reply during my lunch hour here, and lacked the time to make it
shorter ;-) .

I'll take a look at your promises and fixpoint combinator examples,
and see how far I can go.  The main difficulty with having to refer to
other references is that I am very pressed for time, and was hoping to
cover the rest of Alice Manual - A Tour to Wonderland in a single
sitting, but now the requirement of having to digest the other
references and integrate them into the tutorial so that I can document
my session with the Interpreter makes it seem like this tutorial alone
will take multiple sessions.  Originally, I was hoping for a one-shot
deal with the tutorial.

Thanks for your help, and I'll keep you posted if I run into further
difficulties with discrepancies betweeen the documentation and the
language.
