I mentioned Tunein Radio in response to an eMail on this list.
Another person joined the thread and said that Tunein was removing stations.
Unfortunatley I've lost the original thread otherwise I would have
replied so the thread remained in order but mail has been miss behaving
here, messages have been deleted and I'm yet to find the cause of the
problem which I will so I've started a new subject line.
For the person who was concerned about Tunein removing stations then i
suggest that they get the weekly Tunein newsletter emailed to them which
describes new stations, podcasts and other audio services added to
Tunein along with reorganisation of existing content.
Tunein do not remove stations unless the station no longer exists or the
stream cannot be accessed.
On a related note my Denon AVR2113 Surround-Sound receiver which I've
thoroughly enjoyed for just over 5 years has decided that its life
should end thus I'm preparing to buy the replacement model which is the
Denon AVRX2400H.
This newer model is packed with too many bells and whilstles to describe
here but one noteable change is that the AVRX2400H - unlike the Denon
AVR2113 - uses the Tunein Radio database for its Internet Radio and
Podcast functionality.
Yes I'll give you notes on the new receiver when I get it so you won't
rid yourselves of me that easily <smile> but I've got to get it first.
The only other thing I have to add with regard to the Denon is that
after 5 years I took the AVR2113 for granted and it was a central part
of my Entertainment system in the lounge so now the Receiver doesn't
work and neither does anything else in the lounge given that every other
piece of equipment is connected and integrated to or with the Denon, ah
well these things do happen unfortunately.
The only good thing is that now is certainly the right time to get a
high quality Surround-Sound receiver, the 2400H as I say is packed with
all sorts of stuff and I'll only pay the price I paid for the 2113 5
years ago prices sure have fallen through the floor. I was planning on
upgrading but.. well... not right now.
