I hadn't heard about Tidal's financial situation for a while so I'm not up
to speed here but I think if we all did a bit of reading then we wouldn't
come away surprised knowing that many Music Streaming services are feeling
the pinch financially and as you say it's a crowded market out there.
Already we've seen Pandora close in Australia so I don't know how Pandora is
doing in the rest of the world.
Spotify I believe are still making a loss but its not as bad as it once was.
What I'm am surprised about - looking with Google - is how popular Tidal
actually is so that must mean one thing, people still like to hear music as
close to what the artist intended as is possible.
I honestly thought that Subscription Music services traded on convenience -
just being able to hear the songs you wanted to hear - more than anything
else.
So the question then arises is the proportion of people willing to shell out
to hear lossless content strong enough to sustain one or perhaps two
services?
Of Course Apple could turn iTunes into a Lossless Music haven within seconds
if it really wanted to as iTunes too supports Lossless formats.
Anyway interesting days and I can only dream of what may come, I'll stick
with Tidal and try any other Lossless music services that might come along.
Oh and one final word, congratulations to Tidal for making both Apps and Web
Site easy to use and get around.

It looks like a really impressive service. But there is a lot of talk about
Title being in financial difficulty. There were claims in December they only
had 6 months working capital. It is thought they came to an already crowded
streaming market too late, and their premium service is pitched at too high
a price while their lossy service offers fewer songs at the same price as
their rivals. It would be a shame if they went under, because we really
need a good lossless service.

Hi!

As other list members may know I've been using the Tidal Music Subscription
Service now for over a month and I very much enjoy it, as far as quality and
usability go Tidal is the best music Subscription Service I've used but
don't just take my word for it, take a look at the review linked to below.
