I appreciate the commentary about the Gracenote database, but Winamp must be reading the information off the CD. All I know is Winamp shows the tags when I play the CD.
What I really need is some help getting the CD ripped to my computer!!! But Winamp still works for playing my music collection, and for playing streams, so I'm still using it for that. Now I have ripped a few CDs that seem to have their song info encoded on the CD itself, and Winamp can use that to populate the file tags and label the songs; but I think for the vast majority of CDs, it can't get that info anymore because it can't use Gracenotes.
