Yes, definitely upgrade. It's fast and very responsive.  There are certainly
no accessibility degredations; in fact all the on-screen buttons seem to
function properly, which wasn't always the case with JAWS previously, at
least. The advanced preferences screen is still a bit tricky, but if you
didn't really use that for much previously, you certainly won't have to
worry about it now.

I don't know about the accessibility part but what I can tell you is that
the latest version of VLC has some significant bug fixes and has better
performance.
