Dane,

Winamp is the most accessible media player for the blind. It may be
old, but it is highly functional. I am listening to online radio with
it as I type this message.  Braille slates are more than 80 years old
but they are still used because they are useful.  I also own and use a
minidisc recorder. It is somewhat ancient, but it remains highly
effective for spoken word recording.
