Dane, My approach has been the same with capturing audio, use an external device. If I am understanding you correctly, you are saying that the interface is useable. Like you, there are aspects I don't expect to be accessible, but for the price I think I will try it as well. Thank you.

I never regarded Sound Forge as a good audio capturing tool but that was then and this is now. Sound Forge Audio Cleaning Lab can capture audio if that's what you prefer to do or that's the only means you have of getting audio onto your computer. Thankfully I can and will avoid all that by recording the audio on one of my recorders and then transferring it to the computer where upon I can load the audio grack into Sound Forge Audio Cleaning Lab and work from there hopefully. The layout of the App looks at a glance quite intuitive though some hands-on experience will let me know for sure. Sound Forge Audio Cleaning Lab has a menu system and shortcuts to boot.
