Dane,

My approach has been the same with capturing audio, use an external device.
If I am understanding you correctly, you are saying that the interface is
useable. Like you, there are aspects I don't expect to be accessible, but
for the price I think I will try it as well. Thank you.

Best regards,

Steve Jacobson

I used Sound Forge to capture audio once upon a not so long ago but gave up
for much the same reason as you have mentioned.
I never regarded Sound Forge as a good audio capturing tool but that was
then and this is now.
Sound Forge Audio Cleaning Lab can capture audio if that's what you prefer
to do or that's the only means you have of getting audio onto your computer.
Thankfully I can and will avoid all that by recording the audio on one of my
recorders and then transferring it to the computer where upon I can load the
audio grack into Sound Forge Audio Cleaning Lab and work from there
hopefully.
The layout of the App looks at a glance quite intuitive though some hands-on
experience will let me know for sure.
Sound Forge Audio Cleaning Lab has a menu system and shortcuts to boot.
I don't expect to be able to analyse or edit the spectrum though <smile>.

Dane,

I would be very interested in how you find this app. I use Sound Forge and
was also considering trying this out since the price is fairly low. Mostly,
I am curious if we are able to use if reasonably well, and I'm also curious
to hear how its audio capture feature works. I have been stung in the past
capturing audio on a computer only to find later that some process caused me
to miss little bits of audio, and have tended not to capture audio on my
computer that I couldn't listen to from end to end. I know, it was probably
just me. <smile> Still, much of what this software does is subjective to
some degree, so a quick description of the interface even before you get
into the guts of it all would be very much appreciated.

Best regards,

Steve Jacobson

Hi,

Magix are offering this for $59 for a limited time so - at that price - I
thought I'd buy this App to see what I could make of it.

I have some vinyl here which I'll sample with the Zoom F8N and then transfer
to the computer to see what I can manage - if anything - with the App.

The Audio Cleaning Lab is a separate application to the actual Sound Forge
and is supposed to be a new 64-bit offering from Magix.
