Hi all who have responded thus far.
I've loads of questions regarding the NT1 microphone.
hamit you said that you'd like a set of these, factory set!
Are you saying that the NT1 is a Mono microphone? And for Sterio, you'd
need 2 of these mics?
I've been listening, on the Accessible Youtube all morning and this
microphone is considered to be one of the best Home Studio microphones. As
I like to record small bands at my local pub as well as recording my local
quire, I thought that this microphone may work out well.
I was concerned however as to how to record Vocals and strings in the pub
with up to 5 artists, with a single microphone.
Below is a very short recording that I found on Youtube this morning.
I think this is of interest as the hole recording was done using the FT1
alone.
Have a listen at the link below.

I' sure you will agree with me that it covered quite a broad front of this
wee band.
Tell me what you think folks . Is this the mic I am looking for, though as
I also like to record bird calls, I'd still need a second mic for out of
doors with a shotgun and very high quality Dead Cat!
Up until now I was considering buying both the Sure 57 for strings and the
Sure 58 for vokals. Good for recording a single singer like Cat Stevens or
david Gray, but how about a band of 5 artists with 5 instraments?
Very best wishes.
Andy.
Are you saying that the

Hello Hamit,
What the NT1 or the NT1A. Apparently there is a mod to fix some issue. It
seemed to be an American thing. So I didn’t look into it further.

No need to save up the $600 for the stereo matched pair.

Hello,
Haven’t you got one yet? It is actually the shock mount that is the

Ah my favorite of the mics Neal Ewers has. Andy 1 thing to be aware
with the NT1-A though it is a large diaphragm. Thus it's big and
heavy. Gena you still here? What did you tell me like a pound or
something? But yeah not discuraging. I want the factory stereo matched
pair of NT1-A mics. It's been my fave ever since hearing it on Neal's
Sound-devices 744-T recorder. Can't wait to hear what it sounds like
on an F6. Or even the F8 if you get 1 Andy.

Your clip on microphones are actually very good mid range quality
units.
As far as quality goes, any professional studio that you visit on
either
coast will offer you a U87 or a 416 but you are not in a studio you
are
outdoors. Your best choice for outside ambiance is the NT1a because
of its
extremely low noise. You can get either a new or used one on ebay
for a
fraction of the cost of a 416.

Subject: [all-audio] Microphones for Zoom
Hi all.
I've got both the Zoom H6 and the F8n, but the only microphones I
have are
the 2 clip on ones that I origionally got with the H6.
I'm wanting to record the Dawn Chorus in my garden but don't have a
clue as
to which microphone , or best type, to buy and where to buy it.
I think I need a directional Shot-gun microphone with a large
Dead-Cat
windscreen, and also about 3 meters of cable with the appropriate XLR
plugs.
Can anyone please give me some advice.
Also, My Zoom H6 is playing up. I think I've changed an inportant
option
within the menues. I tried recording bird calls and the recording
was
extremely poor. Is there perhaps a function within the H6 that
Re-sets the
device back to factory settings.
I hope you are all okay and enjoying this period of noise pelution
silence
to get very nice recordings. If so I'd love to here some samples.
Very best wishes and please take care of yourselves.
Andy Logue from Scotland.
