Not really, but in mye xperience, if VLC can't handle it at all, there's not 
much you can do. VLC will fix some indexing errors in video files -- not sure 
if it can do anything with a broken MP3 or not, but it will do its best to play 
the file as is and generall doesn't "quit" as easily as other players will no 
matter how messed up the file is. What kind of corruption are we talking about 
here? Do you get nothing when attempting to play?  Does the file seem 
incomplete,  or is there just a lot of digital noise?
