Hello John,

As a ham I also wanted to try setting up an SDR. I purchased a SDR Play unit. A
lovely nice reasonable priced box. I purchased a receive only loop antenna that
hangs in a window. I joined the SDRPlay users email address and here's what I
found:

SDR Play used a software package called Uno. But it is being deprecated to SDR
connect. Someone was writing a plugin for Uno to give Jaws support. But no-one
could find it. Uno does have some keyboard commands But it is a very
complicated software package. Sighted people love being to move and resize
several windows showing different frequencies etc all at the same time. All
this was in 2023/24. There is a SDR software package that is accessible and
should support the SDR Play units but I found it very confusing and couldn't
get it working with my unit. A Fellow ham was going to demonstrate it but never
followed it through. I believe this was called HD SDR.

Thus you need accessible software that supports specific hardware and you'll
need an antenna. I would hope it is easier now and hope someone else has
something more positive to offer.

Hi,
I'm wanting to get into playing with some SDR's. Anyone know of any reasonably
priced dongles for the PC, as well as accessible software? I use NVDA as a
Screen Reader, along with Windows 10 as my operating system.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
