This draft describes commonalities and differences between decoupled
and hierarchical architectures to support scalable Virtual Private
LAN Services (VPLS). The need to maintain a full mesh of control
connections (e.g. LDP, BGP, etc�) and transport paths between all PEs
that are service aware may impose a scalability limit on the non
decoupled VPLS architecture.
