------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mon Jan 17 08:04:13 -0800 2005 ------- When during startup of soffice it is detected that important functionality (e.g., UNO's types.rdb) is missing or corrupted, it would be good to have a platform-native way to display an appropriate error message to the user (native message box on Windows, just stderr on plain X11, etc.). Any attempt to use OOo-specific functionality to display the error message to the user could all to easily lead to a crash in such a situation.
