This is not a duplicate issue to 36725. I filed two problems for the same
input file and outputted PDF, but they are different problems. The problem
reported here with the reversed parenthesis and LRM mark showing appears in
xpdf and Acrobat Reader 5 (on Linux) and Acrobat Reader 6 (on Windows), which
otherwise display the PDF quite fine.
The problem in 36725 was that the file did not display at all using
ghostscript.
Re-opening.
