Then Win98-line doesn't contain a non-breaking hyphen, but a soft-hyphen.
(inserted with <ctrl>+"-"). A soft-hypen is supposed to be invisible and only
appear when the word is split at line ends (If you turn off View|Field shadings
or switch to Page preview, you should not see the soft hyphen)
So please check again whether you really used <ctrl>+<shift>+"-" or used
<ctrl>+"-" (without <shift>) by accident.
