There is a very real chance of the user losing data (because he thinks he is in an infinite loop, and will only get out of the program by killing it). IMHO the minimum should be to add a sentence to the error dialog: "If this warning appears repeatedly, please klick OK util it disappears" If a computer program displays the same warning repeatedly, I think it is in a infinite loop and has crashed.
