(2) Right-click on the selected columns and click on "Hide". (3) Now highlight the two columns on either side of the hidden columns. (4) Now, right-click will have an extra option "show" below "hide". (5) Click on "show" and the hidden columns will re-appear correctly. Now, if step (5) is delayed for an hour or so, whilst you're making a few changes, you may find that the "show" option is no longer available. Double-clicking on the crack where the columns are hidden will get them back -probably one at a time - but with formatting lost. I'm trying to find out if there's a single action that causes the loss of the "show" option. So far, I've had no luck with a few simple tests but this problem has occurred several times with data I need, making me avoid "hide" altogether. Murphy's Law rules as usual! If I find a repeatable test I'll let you know.
