If you select a fontwork object you should see the fontowkr bar. The text
formatting bar would not make sense here, since the fontwork objects have no
explicit fontsize. The size can be chnaged using the object handles.
If the text formatting bar does not come up at all please make sure it is not
switched off (View/Toolbars..).
