If you save a file in OO.o applciations, there is a check box to add automatic
file extension. One thing that is quite odd is when the user is saving a
document as some 'type' he would naturally would like that to be the 'specific'
type of file rather than a 'file'. I have set my explorer settigns to show all
file extensions and in that case if the extension part is not present then the
file is assumed only as a 'file' without any specific associations. This is
fine as far as explorer is concerned as it is the container for files.

So, what I propose is that OO.o should add the file extension automatically for
the specific type the user is saving the file to; This means removing that
checkbox for 'automatic file extension' and doing this job with some
intelligence perhaps [depending on the situation].
