The traces were both in the: (1) 'share' and 'user' folders (files containing strings pointing to the defunct 1.1.2 directory) and in the (2) windows registry Upon 1.1.4 installation, the 1.1.2/share and 1.1.2/user directory was created as well as their subdirectories (due to some registry key?), but they contained no xlb-files, hence the error message upon saving. The program tried to use the 1.1.2/share,user subdirectories instead of the 1.1.4/share,user directories. Since the uninstall 1.1.4 did not remove the share and user directories, the error was repeated upon each new installation. It is not clear what exactly was the reason, but manual 'cleaning' of the registry for all traces of '*g1_1_2' and '*g1.1.2' and complete removal of the 'share' and 'user' directories after 1.1.4 deinstallation made the 1.1.4 installation successfull.
