Hi
We cannot use the terms left and right because of bidirectional writing
capabilities (and possibly Asian vertical writing, but no time to research that
just now) that mean that what you set in this dialog could be "before" something
but on the right instead of on the left.
All texts which said "right" and "left" had to be changed to "before" and
"after" ever since we introduced bidi functionality.
It would be best if there could be totally separate strings for the different
locales and directions, but you can switch languages and direction within the
English version, too, for example. Switching the strings at runtime is not
technically an option. And what would happen if you open a Hebrew document
(which you can do from any language version)? There are too many dependencies.
It would also cause inconsistency in the documentation if the dialog had
different labels at different times (and that in every localization).
