Create a blank document, type a short sentence, and apply a number style to that
line. With some fonts, this will print fine. With others, the space between
the dot after the number and the first letter of the paragraph is missing, and
that space will be inserted later in the line: 3-6 letters into the paragraph,
in my testing. To show this in ASCII, this:

1. Blahblah bla blabla

will look something like this:

1.Bla hblah bla blabla

when printed. It looks fine on the screen.

If you then change the paragraph style to some more common font, like Times New
Roman or Garamond, it prints correctly.

This problem does not affect non-numbered paragraphs.

This is easiest to see with Microsoft's version of Palatino Linotype, shipped
with many Microsoft products. I've also seen it with American Garamond BT from
the Corel Draw font collection.

The URL links to a document showing the problem.

I can provide PDFs or bitmaps of printout scans if needed.

This problem has existed for the past several versions. I refrained from
reporting it because other Palatino Linotype related bugs were open at the time,
and I was hoping the fix to those would fix this as well.
