The format of the cells in column A is no "Date"-format but "Number - Standard",
as you can see in Format - Cells. If you set it to some "Date"-format, the chart
will use it. To apply the changes single-click the chart (green handles) and use
then F9.
I do not know whether this is a defect or perhaps an enhancement, that chart
should be able to use the displayed format if the cell is set to "Number -
Standard".
