It is true that it cannot be used as such in the Templates directory. I will look towards this possibility in the future. Nevertheless, I just tested a workaround that works well here: 1) Open the template in OOo2. 2) It will be recognized as WordPerfect Document and imported as such. 3) After that, you can save it as .odt or .stw and use it as any other OOo template.
