probably we cannot do anything about this; gtk draws GTK_ORIENTATION_VERTICAL
only on handle boxes and indeed in gtk application one does not find vertical
toolbars. So it's up to the theme whether it provides the needed
GTK_ORIENTATION_HORIZONTAL. The horizontal toolbars look ok, but the gtk handle
is actually a bit overlapped by the child widget as it seems which clips a
little of the right edge of the handle; this is visible in OOo.
Essentially it would seem that this is not well defined in gtk itself, so we
cannot do anything to conform better.
