------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Wed Oct 12 22:54:32 -0700 2005 ------- Build 1.9.125.1.2 - RPM from SuSE Online Updater SuSE Linux 9.3 In the Save As dialog, if you select a file in a child directory of the working directory, OpenOffice Writer will overwrite the selected file silently, with no warning that a file already exists. Result: unrecoverable data loss, since there isn't even a backup made of the overwritten file. Reproducible: always Steps: Assume your working directory is called "Documents" Create a subdirectory of Documents --> $HOME/Documents/Test Folder Place an odt file in that subdirectory - MyUpdatedResume.odt will do. Start OpenOffice Writer Click on File | Save As Select Test Folder double click on MyUpdatedResume.odt OpenOffice Writer silently overwrites your resume with an empty document. Place another copy of MyUpdatedResume.odt in the Documents folder (Open Office's working folder). You DO have another copy, right? Back in Writer, click on File | Save As navigate back to the Documents folder double click on MyUpdatedResume.odt This time, a warning dialog box appears: A file named "file:///$HOME/Documents/MyUpdatedResume.odt" already exists. Are you sure you want to overwrite it? --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
