(Have you ever try to open a session of gnome, kde... on two different computer on the same nfs account? The dumb file locking ability of this applications can just prevent you from working.) A correct file locking shouldn't prevent users from working. And that's what this one is doing... see issue 47874, 52369, 54136, 54586, 55086.
