Does Writer have the ability to export a document in PDF format with tags that
allow access anywhere in the document. I know that OpenOffice 2 can use chapter
heading. But what about something with more finer control. Such as using the
cross-reference as a tag.

The purpose is to use Writer to create a help file for a software program using
the F1 help key. Below is request that was on the forum. I have the same
requirement.

Thanks,
Al Winter

Hi there.

I currently looking for a help solution for our company's applications. Until
now we have the help has consisted of a pdf document being opened when the user
presses F1. We would like to extend this a little bit further by inserting
bookmarks into the document which the user can be directed to in some given
application context.

I am aware of OO2 capability in supporting epdf and the fact that headings can
be transformed to bookmarks in the pdf document, but these are diffucult to use
as navigationpoints as text differs from language to language. What I need is
the ability to create OO bookmarks (or anchors) that are languageindependent
jumpcodes, thus "CHAP_PIZZA_ORDERING".
Can this be done ?

Best Regards
Jakob Simon-Gaarde
