The word completion list is not persistant by design. While the label is misleading, the Help file (in 2.0, anyway) makes that more clear. However, I would challenge the wisdom of the current setup. Since the list is user-limited in size, it shouldn't go out of control. A far greater incovenience, with my user habits, is having to prime the word completion function every session by opening a large file. And since the words cannot be copied out of the list and into a file (as far as I've been able to determine), that's not a practical thing to set up.
