Just weighing in here. Both sides of this discussion are correct. The word 
completion list is not persistant by design. While the label is misleading, 
the Help file (in 2.0, anyway) makes that more clear.

However, I would challenge the wisdom of the current setup. Since the list is 
user-limited in size, it shouldn't go out of control. A far greater 
incovenience, with my user habits, is having to prime the word completion 
function every session by opening a large file. And since the words cannot be 
copied out of the list and into a file (as far as I've been able to 
determine), that's not a practical thing to set up.

So here's my vote for changing the list to be persistant.
